Our mission

“A network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need.”

Who We Are

Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (known as Vincentians) are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to neighbors in need. Around the globe, members represent all ages, every race, and all incomes, and all are gifted with awareness that the blessings of time, talent, and treasure are to be shared with neighbors in need.

What We Do

Vincentians respond to their community’s needs. Our founding activity, still practiced today, is the face-to-face Home Visit. Here, Vincentian volunteers visit the homes of local neighbors in need, to identify both immediate and longer-term needs, including emergency assistance with utilities, rent, food, and clothing.

How To Help

It’s easy to get involved in our efforts to create change for struggling individuals and families within Knox County. You can support our mission and make a valuable impact in many different ways. Associate members, home visitors, mentors and donors are equally essential in carrying out the work of the Vincentian vocation.

“How happy are those who give themselves to God without reserve to do the works Jesus Christ did and to practice the virtues He practiced.”

— St. Vincent de Paul
